Dreambox DM500S DM 500 and Motec Motor SG2100A

Hi mates

Is the 12V power supply of a dreambox DM500S enough to power a Moteck SG2100A motor (1.1M dish)?

Also, if you know, between the DM500S and DM5620S, which one has a better tuner for low powered satellite? Or do they use the same tuner?

I was previously using a DM 5620S but sold it at cost to a close mate. It seems to struggle with Thor and Sirius signals.

My budget is not enough to go for the DM7020O-no

I have a DB500 and the Motek- still in box waiting to be installed... Have been told it will power it OK.

The box should have no problem with the Moteck.

This product is not recommended for use with
line powered DiSEqC systems. The DM500-S
power supply can only provide 12V. Generally
motorized DiSEqC require 14V or more to
operate successfully.

The moteck requires 13V, so 12v will work, but the motor may strain the tuner (My view).
