There is a new DM500S that was released a month ago or so that is much better according to some forums....

7020 : Gemini 2.10

DM500 has the Philips tuner
My friend gave to me his DM7020. I tested it same condition. Results are the same. I think that all sold DM7020's at this local area have A type tuner as you said :-) !haggard said:Just check back what rolfw said; very pertinent.
Apart from his
"I'm not saying that it doesn't prove anything,"
which should have been
"I'm not saying that it doesn't prove nothing"
what he is correctly saying is that the original and follow up posts should not be saying
"the 7000 tuner is better than the 7020 tuner"
but rather
"the tuner in my 7000 is better than the tuner in my 7020.'
All tuners have a manufacturing spread in threshold and it would be quite normal for two tuner types, A and B, where the average threshold for A is better than the average threshold for B, to be in two receivers where that particular tuner in A is worse than that one in B. They will overlap in performance.
Quod non erat demonstrandum.
