Do dreamboxes update keys and firmware (for example), or anything automatically if connected to internet?

Im thinking about getting one, what stuff do they open (If its allowed to be discussed on here) and how easy are they to set up? I know quite a lot about computers but little about linux

Any help appreciated :)

If connect to the Internet a few button presses 'can' update what you want. This is available only on some images and the servers they contact can be removed at any time. No guarantees.

What can be watch changes all the time.

All the information you need to set-one-up can be found here - most in the 'idiots guide'. You don't need to know Linux, but I does help.

A knowledge of computers, FTP, IP can make life a lot easier. It is a steep learning curve.

Well, I have two kids aged 12 and 9 and they use the box for regular viewing, they know how to change satellites ane stations and how to watch stuff I recorded for them from my PC. So if I managed to do that ANYBODY with a bit of computer skills can do it. Of course all the keys updating and cams etc I do, but that's easy as well.
