I've bought from these folks before (discs mainly) and they are pretty good in my experience.

Here they have a DVD recorder, allowing you to record directly from TV to DVD disc, with DivX/Xvid playback compatibility.

Bit of a lost-leader I expect, but they reckon they have 100 in stock.

Check out the discs as well. Cheapest I can find other than the odd exception.

anyone got one? does it have a rather annoying cooling fan making it seem likes its more of a PC under your TV - some cheapies do, making them quite noisy. (eg Yamada DVD recorder)

Bought a Sony a DVD recorder about 7mts ago for €599 and seen it for €399 now. Prices crashing down all the time and was shopping in Dunnes Stores for food and seen stacks of Yamada dvd recorders for €199. Said it to my mate and he bought one. I set it up for him as he dont even know what a scart lead is. Must say excellent bargain & very easy to use with 4 inputs. He has Sky going through it, Dreambox, Cable, And another dvd for copying. Was a bit jealous............

Just was having a look and ended up buying 50 dvd+ for €30 delivered. Not bad 60cent each with the ritek brand. Thanks Butterbox.

This one, although a tad more expensive gets some good reviews.
Ram Drive option for extended recording. Whether there is a trade off here for picture quality i don't know.

That reminds me. Must risk a quid on lottery this weekend!

On the disc front, Ritek are all i use now on my PC. Never had a coaster yet.

I must say I DO like the pannies. I have the original HDD model DMR-HS2 but it's only a 40 gig drive. Also got the DMR-E75V DVD and video recorder combined. I like the ram discs.

I've seen the E55 for £175 - all regions model.

Yes, I'll only use the Ritek G04's in my writer after wasting a fortune of duff (branded) disks...
