Hello Everybody.
I am looking for a feedhorn for my 1.2mt offset Echostar dish.I want to fit a C120 universal lnb to it.
My present feedhorn has an intergrated ferrite polariser attached & is of no use with a universal lnb.
Regards.

I can probably help

Whats the F/D ratio of the dish , and whats the clamp size (I think thay are 21mm)

A mechanical polarizer will work as well with a good WR75 LNB , if the receiver has pulse output

There are still good Full band LNBs on the market

?

Hello Channel Hopper.
Thank you for your reply.
Whats the F/D ratio of the dish , and whats the clamp size (I think thay are 21mm)

I dont know the F/D ratio of my dish & I dont know how I could work it out.
The clamp size is I think either 21mm or 23mm.

I have an Invacom C120 0.3 twin output universal lnb.
I also have a Channel Master Feedhorn which I was going to try with the Invacom, but I thought that if i could find an Echostar feed it would be better as it would be matched to my Echostar dish which is about 4 or 5 years old.
My receiver is an Echostar 7000HDD
Regards.

Can you give me the part number (Echostar dishes used to be plastic and the model is usually stamped next to the Echostar logo on the back)

There were more than one version of the 1.2m dish

No Number on the back next to label.
The dish is made of plastic/fibreglass.
I will take a photo of the dish & feedhorn & post it later.
I have been told that a Channel master feed will do just as well.
Regards.

That is not an Echostar feed

That was produced by Cober in about 1993

The Echostar feed was MUCH longer

What might be possible (the CM feed probably will not fit in the same clamp as it has additional grooves along the barrel)

I would hazard a guess that by the time you have bolted a different feed on and tried to make it line up withthe centre of the dish, at the right distance, you would get the same performance from a standard Invacom twin with feed, and take off the outer plastic casing. This brings down the size of throat allowing you to bolt it into the clamps

Your feed is not a type of Universal feed, it was designed specifically for WR75 flange LNBs (The MTI full band unit in the photo is one )

Best to replace anything ferrite as the polarisation skew is proportional to the magnetc effect inside the polariser, which affects scanning a satellite, especially when using a netwrok facility to find new channels

Let us know how you get on with the Channel Master unit, Invacoms are highly recommended above almost all branded products
