My Satellite Setup
1.2m motorised feeding an assortment of receivers via a multiswitch.

Mine has just arrived. On startup, I am getting "Unauthorized Device! Please buy an official box.". This comes up every few seconds. I have reset to factory settings, done an online firmware update and tried using the latest file from sat-soft site. Obviously, I have posted a support ticket with the supplier and am waiting on their reply. In the meantime, has anyone here got any possible solutions?

Supplier has spoken to Edision and both are "baffled". I don't think it's a clone. Why bother cloning on such a cheap model? Anyway, an RMA has been authorized.

Yeah interesting, maybe it had test firmware or something on it.
I highly doubt it will be counterfeit, odd one that :)
I'm sure I read something similar on another box, might have been an SX88?

They'll clone anything if they see a profit..But agree, it does sound unlikely.

Received my SCART to RCA Converter from PRC today.

Had to modify one side of the casing with a Stanley Knife and small file as the box has been badly (or carefully!) designed so that you can't insert a SCART plug and an HDMI lead at the same time. Physical interference of maybe only 1mm, but too much nevertheless.

Ten minutes work and it fits nice and tight up against the HDMI lead ...... more important, I now have Audio direct to my Amp.

Well, my replacement has arrived from World-of-Satellite. No "Unauthorized Device" error this time. The UI takes some getting used to compared to OpenPLI etc. I shall have a play with it now...

I've been teaching SWMBO to drive it .... made it dead easy by extensive use of Favourites lists and judicious programming of the Telecommander buttons assigned to the TV.

Handy that universal learning system on the Telecommander.

I assigned the ratio button to AV on my TV remote so I can toggle the HDMI inputs.

Yes, I use that button for switching sources, too :Y

"Turn the TV on then toggle to Satellite"

"Select Fav, then Italian, French, whatever"

Done.

A message has popped up saying new firmware 1.04.60 is available. The download fails, and cannot see it anywhere on the net..

Yeah it's not on the server for the unlocked firmware.
I guess they have pushed it but not uploaded it or something daft!
