Been some voting circuit tests on 7e. All 4:2:2 so far like last year.

Makes sense! The first dress rehearsal for the final started an hour ago. They'll more than likely do a full voting run through

Quite a few of the voting tests have been 4:2:0 for those unable to see 4:2:2

Main feeds are back.

As expected, they've weakened the signal even more. Not locking for more than 10 seconds at a time here.

Advise updated frequencies for the view you want, there are so many!
I have a 2 TB hard drive connected to the stb with next to nothing on it!

Must be some more voting circuits hiding on another satellite. Was kind of following along last night and some weren't on 7e.

Dress rehearsal is on 7E now, oddly not on 10E.

Well I've got to say, it was lovely being able to pick up the feeds this year on my bog standard 80cm dish. I'd always wanted to catch them but my dish was never big enough to pick them up.

Unfortunately, some individuals took advantage of the higher power at the start of the week and uploaded the dress rehearsal performances to YouTube and the like - immediately after this, they reduced the power levels and it just dropped further and further as the week went on. (I had a solid 65% signal on Monday but down to 44-46% last night which caused continuous break up). I think they've learned their lesson that BISS-1 encryption isn't really that secure and had been optimistic by pumping out the feed at full power to begin with.

Sadly I don't think they'll let this happen again, most probably will go with BISS-E next year as they do for their sporting events.

Nope it isn't secure. If anything, they will use Tandberg Encryption. Either that or the main and backup feeds will go though NS3, which very few have access to.

Horrible thought but a lot of the eastern european broadcasters more than likely just won't be able to afford the equipment. I'm sure the EBU have been eager to do this for years but the smaller nations won't see it feasible, especially those that don't carry live events frequently.

Bad news for anyone wanting to pick these up this year. They are indeed using BISS-E encryption for the transmissions - as I feared last year :(

Nooo, i was waiting and counting down to watch it via feed, this is really really bad news. :( it means also that we have to use national broadcasters (and all their stupid commentators voiceover) if we will record the competition :(((((

You could always mute the TV. I do and it improves the show no end.

Have you seen any of the test feeds so far this year? What's the signal strength like on them?

I remember last year they started off very strong on the Monday night and got gradually weaker throughout the week, even with the BISS encryption.
