Well in the question(first post of this thread) someone(I don't remember his nick) asked what he needed to watch the SIS feeds, those are all mpeg2, only the BBC feeds are in the 4:2:2 format.

Take a look at:
http://www.satcodx2.com/0215/eng/

I asume that "Eutelsat 11" as the topic says should be "Eutelsat 2 21.5 East"

Corrected price of IRD 2800 QPSK from Scopus is £1850 + VAT + P+P

Thanks for your trouble in getting this, Channel Hopper - I wonder if they have any demonstration models for around £200 :-)))

If you do stick with a dual axis system then the best method would be two separate positioner modules

I'm not sure what "dual axis system" means in terms of equipment.

I think, considering the price of the receiver, that I now want the cheapest method for the rest of the equipment.
How would you do it if you had my current set up?
Regards,
Chris.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

There is no such thing as a 'cheap' dual axis tracking system.

Many have tried, but at the end of the day less money = more headaches

You really do have to do the homework first, starting with a difinitive channel list including
1) that you simply have to have
2) that you would like to watch
3) that are not too important

From that costs can be calculated

Hi Leonard,
It was me who started this thread.
Richard Evans, senior UK helpdesk advisor for Eutelsat says that the SIS feeds are often in 4:2:2 video format. Are you, or anyone else, able to prove he's wrong, as it will save me a couple of grand?

Regards,
Chris

I have problems tuning that satellite due to my solid dish mount. I reffered to the data provided by Satcodx online websate and "World of Satellites 2"(also from satcodx but as a installed software).

Yes, I know. I had already seen this previously but, on the advice of someone on this thread, I decided to contact Eutelsat to make absolutely sure I was doing the right thing.
If you know anyone who could check it would be really appreciated.
Regards,

Chris.

Dear 2Old

Very few of the links within your post seem to work

Do you have any updated sites ?

I'm afraid I don't CH.
My advice would be to search for the receiver names listed using Google/Alta-Vista, or to mail the addreses given.
If I come across any more such 4:2:2 links sites, I'll post them here. There's not a great deal of info on that around, since the market (as you are no doubt aware) is still rather a specialist one. Only last year did "consumer" level 4:2:2: receivers start to appear.
