F15 Card Reader - Which Cards Can It Read ?

hello, those with the f15 receiver has any one tried different sub cards in the card slot.

I'm wondering if my aljazeera sport irdeto 2 card and my cyfra+ seca 3 card will work or not and update each month ?

Can you fit another card reader in the f15 because an eBay seller says you can and sells one as an extra.

Sorry, only tried my French "Orange" viewing card in there which didn't work (not surprising as I can't get it to work in the VU+ either). The guy on Ebay selling the card reader is the same place I bought my F15 from and I think he's fairly clued up. Other than that you can ask on their forum.........if your Russian is up to it that is........

Sorry Wod ...not really a card user so I can't really help on this one .
I did once have it read a gamma ..so irdeto a possibilty.
The cam slot appears to work ok with everything I tried ..so there is always that option I guess..
Be interested to know what you find out though.

Well I was going to buy a vu+ but if the tuner is better in these then the plug n play will suit me better.

As I know I could configure the vu+ to work with cards but just wondered if the f15 was like a technomate and be able read variety of official sub cards.

My F15 seems to read my Sky card (don't know if it updates, only tried it for a few minutes) and a Swiss Viaccess SRG card.

AFIK, there are no softcams built into the F15/16 firmware. Nano, was referring to OSCam clearing an Orange viewing card in my VU+. Sorry if the thread went a bit OT and confused you.

You need to get an alternative patch to get the extras but as I'm not interested in CS and all that I couldn't tell you how stable it is.

The Irish seller was very good, no problems. I got my item delivered to the UK in about 4 days with tracking. I'm planning to buy an extra remote and card reader from them at some point.

What's in the extras patch as I just want to use my couple of legit cards in the box nothing dodgy.

Does the box have a loop through as I can link my vantage box up if need be.

Also is there new firmware out as vipersans screen grabs look different to videos I have seen on YouTube?

The patch is also useful if you want a few extra channels like the soft encrypted Scandinavian channels on 5E.

Yes, it has an LNB loop through.

My firmware is dated Jan 2012 (v125) and came with the box, I haven't found anything newer.

Just ordered an F16.... The chap I'm buying it off says he'll install the patched f/w for me. Super

@ Wod: I guess these days Ethernet connection is standard in a lot of gear and doesn't specifically mean it's for dodgy purposes. You can network the F16 say to use the PVR functionality on a share rather than on a USB stick/drive.

Channel lists / updates too.
