F5 Skybox

I have just tried installing a f5 skybox, it is showing no signal and I can't get any channels. Is there somewhere you have to download them on to a usb stick. It is connected by ethernet cable. Thanks

Is your dish correctly installed, and the cables installed correctly? If so just do a blind scan on 28E (if i recall your previous question correctly)

Is the F5 connected to a known working dish?

Are you wanting UK Channels from the 28E position?

The reference to the Ethernet Connection is not relevant in terms of the detection of Satellite signals, but such connections are often used by people to engage in Card Sharing via a so called "Gift", which is something we do not permit discussion of on this Forum. Suffice to say that such matters are between the "provider" and the Client alone.

But we can probably assist you with getting the basic Free To Air Satellite reception function of the F5 resolved, subject to your responses regarding the dish.

If the box does indeed have the gift on it be aware that Sky are currently tinkering with their encryptions specifically to knock out gifts / card sharing or whatever else you want to call these illegal activities....

And if it does have a gift on it we dont want to know about it, and cant help you with that aspect as Tivu has said.

Sorry bit new to this and there were no instructions in box. Does it have to be connected to a sky dish?

Yes, its a satellite receiver and gets all its signals through the dish. The ethernet connection does nothing apart from possibly illegally decrypt some or all of the pay channels.

Connect it to the F5 using the screw on "F-connector" at the end of the cable from the dish & scan.

At least you can Delete all the unwanted stuff and then re-order what's left as you wish.

And you can create Favourites.

The Skybox F series are nice little receivers, with a few minor quirks.
