I discovered by chance I could format my hard drive in Fat 32 OR ntfs..
How do they compare in quality, space occupied?
If I want to record on USB is ntfs any better?

Not 100% sure however I thought most STB's only use FAT 32 however, if the STB format menu option allows you to format using both, this suggests it can use both

I wondered basically if,in daily usage of the hard drive for everyday recordings,
using NTFS would require more space for recordings(or less)
Also ,will files be easier to handle ,or of a better quality, under FAT32 or NTFS ,or is that indifferent?

It won't affect the file size or anything like that.
Fat32 file size limit is around 1gb so if it recoded using NTFS then it won't split it into sequencial files like Fat32 would.

The biggest difference is that FAT32 is an open format whilst NTFS is a proprietary Microsoft format.

FAT32 is limited to 4Gb file sizes and ntfs is not
