Faulty Hauppauge DVB-S

My pci DVB-S card suddenly stopped working. I have checked the signal from the LNB on another receiver and all is OK, so it looks like the card is faulty.

Anyone any ideas how to troubleshoot it and/or find a repair shop?

Thanks

Jim

Hi Jim, I guess its tha same as most other receivers with regard to what you can check. First thing is to check the LNB outlet from the receiver, to see if it is sending out a voltage (also check that the software hasn't switched off the power to the LN:cool:. If it is, the next thing to check is if its sending out the two ranges for H & V polarities. Its difficult to check the 22Khz tone switch, but you may try and select a transponder that is in the lower ranges.

The problem with PC cards is that they are very vulnerable to software corruption, so it may be wiorthwhile trying to reload the software, whether it be the original, or Multidec.

Thanks.

Any idea where I can get the Multidec software, the original link is no longer present.

I think you can still obtain it from Happysat.de, but if not, PM me, I may still have a copy.

Rolf

PS. Not sure that anyone repairs these cards.
