Although the later films were better technically, the first film had the element of surprise and novelty and so is still my favourite. :)

The second film for me, the characterisations were better and Harrison Ford ended up in a block of black stone.

Empire Strikes back definitely the best one. The characters were well established and the story had real pace.

I find it funny how no one has voted for the first thhree filim's. Come on guys they were not so bad---------were they?

I havent seen the Sith yet, I hope it had made some recovery from the previous two though. I understand that CGI has come on leaps and bounds, but every film I have seen in the past five years with CGI, moves the plot away from real action, with actors taking a back seat from doing their stuff in real time for the audience.

Bring back Ray Harryhausen and the plasticine monsters
