In addition, given the shallow roof height, you could also install the Penta on the rear with a TK / mast arrangement. If it was my house or installation I'd do just that. Maybe feed the cable through the loft and down :)

this certainly is more appealing as id rather have it in the back

ive attached a pic of the back of house and a ghetto drawing of what i think you mean, would it still clear the roof and have sight for the satellites?

Should do well by the looks of it.

You need an installation like attached which I carried out recently, although in this case the dish was facing away from the roof but you can see the general idea.

Should of really said "Forum Supporting Advertiser", Sat Europa mate, link:

_http://www.sateuropa.co.uk/product_overview.asp?id=2322&catid=12&subcat=2

on another note, ive had an email from another forum sponser (High Definition Ltd) and they say that they dont stock the Penta dishes anymore :(

Pulsat sell it but its £81 delivered just for the dish which seems a bit steep to me.

if anyone knows of any online stores that sell them for decent price please let me know, otherwise i think il have to get a Triax TD88 which is my second choice dish.

thanks

Nowt wrong with the TD88, once fitted. It'll perform nicely.

MTD are Fracarro stockists but if you can't get one from there or the forum advertisers then the Td88 would do well as mentioned.

You have the ideal spot there, as the extension gives you a comfortable working platform, plus using a scaffold pole will allow you to have the dish sufficiently high to clear the roof ridge. Would rcommend and extra K bracket though, would give more stability

been doing another search today and it may look like i need to up my budget for the Penta dish as no one hardly has any stock. I may have found one place that has 1 Red penta 85 in stock for £68 delivered

This has now got me thinking, would it be worth paying a little bit more for a Gibertini 1m aluminium (£75 delivered) over the Penta 85?

would the inverto black ultra lnb work (already purchased this!) with the Gibertini 1m and a tm2600 motor be ok for it?

im just thinking about my options, id rather pay a bit more for quality and future proofing.

thanks all

Just to throw in my twopenneth, I had good results from a motorised 1M Gibertini and Black Ultra combo. No experience of a Penta however.

Bigger is better .............. but although the Gibby is light, it will suffer from the wind more than the Penta.

But a stout erection should nullify that issue.

Yes, I should point out that my dishes (past and present) have been mounted in quite a sheltered spot. The nylon geared Technomate motor I had previously did over time begin to suffer with backlash. I would suggest that a metal geared motor might be a better initial purchase.

Had both dishes here at some point in the past, although the Gibertini was driven by a 36v motor. The Gibby 100cm performs very well... as does the Fracarro. There will be an overall signal improvement using the Gibertini but unless your trying for weak satellites the FR will prove just as good for the popular satellites.

Recommend a set of K&K brackets, scaffold mast and a metal gear motor for the above installation.

Note# the FR Penta comes in steel or aluminium.
