Hi
I'm installing a Motorised usals sytem in my home in Spain
Latittude 41.8N
Longitude 3.0E
Dish Elevation 23.5
Reciever Emetabox3
Dish 90cm
Technomate rotor HH100

I have been advised to lock on to the nearest satellite first,
ive been told that is Thor 1W, is that correct for my location?

Also i'm thinking of buying the Wolsey (Lacuna) 2006NS Satellite Meter.
can anyone advice if this sat finder is worth it as it will cost nearly 280 quid
Thanks:)

Don't think of spending that sort of money on a satellite meter unless you intend to use it regularly, the batteries will almost certainly die on you if not used regularly and a cheap beeper type meter will probably suffice. Your due South reference satellite should be as close to due South as possible, so Sirius 5E would be a better bet, you can offset the difference by sending the motor to 5E before aligning the dish. :)

The compass reading should be around 177 degrees for 5E, then just peak it with you meter.

If buying a meter for installations, you may be better with a slightly more flexible tool, like the satlook NIT or Micro.

Thanks rolf:D
I have had a look on the net for satlook NIT and the prices are very high
the satlook micro plus seems fairly cheap would you reccomend it?

i'm just concerned that these machines maybe to complicated for a learning novice like myself, although i do want to have the best kit for the job.
Thanks:)

You will find a better deal on ebay, don't buy a meter retail.

That one is the Micro, but it is a good meter. :)
