That is nice! FTA HD channels are always good.
Lets have a direct link to that document http://www.fransat.fr/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Multiplex_SD-FRANSAT-PRO.pdf
According that there will be only 10 channels at 11096 means a better bitrate and quality.

Do anyone know if TV 5 going to be switched to HD as well and other fta channels at 5W?
Also there will be a lot of spare tps so we can expect more channels here.

French satellietplatform TV d'Orange stops between May 2016 and december 2016 with broadcasting via
eutelsat 5 west and Eutelsat hotbird 13 east.
Orange plans to continue to offer its DTH satellite service only via Astra (19.2 ° E).

Be interesting to see what happens to the FTA multistream feeds on 5°W. 12648V carries the French DVB-T Multiplexes R5, R7 and R8, of which after this HD switch (Fransat, TNTSAT and Terrestrial are all going HD only) only R7 will still exist.

Some people on other forums had speculated that 11591 would be converted to multistream but this confirms that won't be happening.

I'm guessing (hopefully) two of the R2, R3, R4 and R6 multiplexes will move onto 12648V and the DVB Newtech mux carrying them (11139V or 11509H) will stop. Then they could either keep the other two on a Newtech transponder or move them across to DVB-S2 multistream as well.

Otherwise, I'll probably be getting a Fransat card to save me some hassle! :D

Make sure you get a Fransat CI module or a Fransat box to as Fransat uses an extra AESKey so you cant use the card in another box that is not Fransat approved unless you know the AESKey.

The same can be said for TNTSat on 19.2e also.

Also the 12648 MIS frequency changed! Only one stream 001 and 5 channels compared to 9! We lost TF1HD, M6HD and 6terHD! FRANCE2HD is now on 11591 (I think the picture quality was better in the MIS)! I will blindscan for a new frequency, we'll see!

Yes the multistreams have gone off, but that is to be expected as 12648 carried DVB-T multiplexes R5, R7 and R8. R5 and R8 have been completely turned off at all the terrestrial transmitters along with this change, R7 is the only one left on.

Apparently TDF will be doing more technical changes in the coming weeks to finalise the changes to the terrestrial network in France, so maybe we'll see some of the multiplexes on the Newtec frequencies move across to the multistream on 12648 or another frequency.

For now I've had to go back to TNTSat for TF1 and M6!

Odd.

Just tried it on SWMBO's separate box/dish and all is well here.

Got a bit of detective work to do to sort mine out, methinks.

Right. It's something to do with Dolby. The Skybox F3 can't handle it.

All well with the French connection here (hd on 11591 & no changes on 12690 & 9e 12034). 4 hd added, 5 gone from 11591 but is on 11554 sd. Am still wondering if the fta's will continue.

Are you saying that they also stopped terrestrially in France as well? They went from DVB-T FTA to only sat/cable pay tv?

No they weren't removed from DVB-T, the channels on R5 (multistream 3) and R8 (multistream 2) were moved to different DVB-T multiplexes which are fed via the DVB-Newtec transponders on 11139V and 11508H. Two channels from multiplex R8 (RMC Découverte and Numéro 23) were moved over to multiplex R7, which is the remaining multistream (1) on 12648V.

The multistream and Newtec transmissions are for feeding the terrestrial network so they carry identical content.
