FREE “RedHot” on DVB-T PC Systems!

The fact that "RedHot" is about as hot a dull episode of emmerdale farm is not the point. The point is it’s *NOT ENCRYPTED*, even a little bit!

On a normal set top box you would have to pay a £12 subscription [then £6 per night after that!] to get you past the MHEG password screen.

On a PC DVB-T device all you have to do is manually enter the stream’s PIDS into you channel list file.

VIDEO PID = 7070

AUDIO PID = 7071

That’s all there is to it. If only Top Up was that easy….. ;)

Phwoarr - Emmerdale.....

Seriously it does sound interesting, in much the same way as the Albanian TV sport was for most people, impossible to pick up, the channel could not be detected by MPEG2 receivers until the right PIDs were manually entered.

Makes you wonder how many other signals there are out there just waiting the right manipulation

The A/V PIDS are the only "hidden" ones, If you can use TSReader with your device you can find the others, but here they are anyway:

PCR PID = 2304

PMT PID = 259

TS ID = 12290

SERVICE ID = 15680

If you have a Nokia MediaMaster Set Top Box you can enter them manually on that aswell.

Cheers,
Nick.

How do you enter channels manually on a Nokia MediaMaster?

I can't find any manual option on my 9850

Don't you have an option to do a manual scan in the menu.

I seem to remember my Nokia 221T has the option to enter pids when you tell it to scan in manual. (i think) will confirm this and the S/W ver when I get home.

All I have is add channels and store channels

Add channels does an auto scan and adds any channels it finds to the current list. Store channels erases the current channel list and stores all the ones it can find.

But each one is automatic and doesn’t allow anything to be changed manually. Perhaps it’s the ancient firmware this box is running, details in the screenshot.

Thats virtually identical to the embedded terrestrial box I have in the Bush TV here, which is probably coming up for three years old. No auto updates available that I have found as yet - comes up 'update error' - and so I am not even sure if this would be able to receive TUTV.

I did have this working on my Nokia 221T but it was blank last night - have they changed the PID? or just a fault?

I think you must have a fault mate, the PIDs haven't changed since launch.

Tune your Box to Channel 5 before going into the PID menu.

For people using TSReader use:
FILE -> DEFINE MANUAL CHANNEL -> ADD

then fill in as shown below:

Program Number: (Anything not in use ie: 65)
PCR PID: 0x0900

Then add 2 streams
(Video)
Stream Type: 0x02
Stream PID: 0x1b9e
(Audio)
Stream Type: 0x04
Stream PID: 0x1b9f

I scanned it in last night to have a look as this thread seems to have gathered some momentum.Humping

Good god ! - they are some rough old bints on there  .
SERIOUSLY if trolls the size of busses speaking with a
home counties accent is your bag then you have arrived.

Other wise it really isn't worth the time entering the pids matey :)

I only tuned in quickly to see if it worked, as the Mrs was watching a movie on BBC1 at the time (no, really... 'won't be a minute love - just testing'). If I'd had known, I'd have told her to go watch her film downstairs!

Were any of them car mechanics by any chance?

Top Up TV have just launched a new PPV service called XtraView,

Check out the "Look Around You" style website:

http://www.xtraview.co.uk/

If you've got a Nokia MediaMaster 221T / 121T or a DTT card for your PC you can get it free by entering these PIDs into its channel entry:

PMT PID 293 (0x0125)

PCR PID 2304 (0x0900)

MPEG2 Video Elementary Stream PID 5989 (0x1765)

MPEG2 Audio Elementary Stream PID 7560 (0x1d88)

That's £365 you owe me.... ;)
