I am having trouble aligning my dish to receive freesat from sky. I can receive some channels but not all of then. I cant receive the five main channels or any of the other BBC or ITV channels. My signal strength is at 100% but quality is ony 10%.

Any suggestions?

Its a zone 1 sky dish and a pace DS430N receiver with a quad WNC LNB

OK, don't recognise the LNB type, but I'm assuming it's a Sky one.

Which channels can you actually receive? If you can receive some channels, it may be that it just needs some very slight tweaking, or perhaps even the LNB skewing, as you look from behind the LNB towards the dish, it should be at about 25 minutes to the hour. :)

Yes, but what other channels can you receive? 10% quality is too low, it means that either the dish is off beam or your skew on the LNB is incorrect, or there is a tree or something in the way of the dish. Also 100% signal sounds very high from a minidish.

Throw a wet tea towel over half the dish and realign, then remove.

You haven't answered my question yet, what channels can you actually receive, it is quite important. Forget the tea towel for the moment, it is an old analogue installers' trick, but not quite so relevant these days.

OK, sounds like it is purely dish tweaking/skew adjustment then, can you take a digital photo of your dish and LNB?

What receiver are you using (make and model) and have you used it before?

OK, so a new model, was concerned that it might perhaps be an older box with a faulty tuner or power supply. :)
