Can anybody please tell me what the difference is between Freesat (£150 from Sky) and the Sky Pay Once deal (£75 from Dixons)?

About 75 quid I would say!

Plus with the Pay once offer you get a 2 mix for the first 3 months ( I think those numbers are right).

You have to remember to tell them you don't want to continue with the 2 mix otherwise the start charging you the minimum subscription after the intial period. It is a lure, hoping that you will continue subscribing.

Having said that, it is obviously a better deal, as long as you remember stop the subscription.

Robbo:)

Edit, its for 4 months and 4 mixes

(from Argos website)
For £75 new Sky TV customers get over 200 free digital TV channels & 4 months of the 4 most popular Sky Entertainment Mixes (normally £19/month). After 4 months you'll continue to receive Sky TV for £19/month. If you no longer want to receive Sky TV let Sky know & continue with the free channels.

On receiving your pack call Sky (08705 95 95 95), quote the unique reference number in the pack to book your installation. Have your credit card/Direct Debit details ready - this allows you to order Pay Per View movies & events & continue to watch Sky TV at the end of the 4 months. A professional engineer will bring all you need to get you set for the digital switchover.

and please don't double post. If you find you have posted in the wrong section, a moderator will normally move it for you.

They want to steal a march on BBC Freesat, as once someone gets a BBC Freesat receiver, they will no longer see the vast array of subscription channels in the EPG, so won't be tempted to subscribe.

i would wait until the FREESAT HD box comes out. i have just signed up with sky for 12 months but will probably buy the FREESAT HD box or a independant one rather than pay £199 to sky for what is a poor box, especially if it is anything like the slug pace/amstrad box yu get when they connect yu up. i am shure there is a better HD box on the market for the same noney or less

ASDA have the £75 deal too. It is in a box that looks like a DVD case. You just buy it and then follow the instructions inside.
