I have brought a freeview digital tv.
There is times when I have all the channels but sometimes I keep losing channels. For example when I have all the BBC channels I loose the ITV channels. When I have all the ITV channels I loose all the BBC channels. Sometimes I get all the channels.
It seems to be that when the tv aerial is moved that is when I loose some of the channels.
any suggestion will be much appreciated.

Why are you moving the aerial? Is it an indoor type?

If the aerial is also new, then perhaps you're not pointing to the correct Transmitter for your area and are just picking up incidental signals from other sites?

I live in a flat and have always used an ariel.
Also when I do not have an ariel none of the channels appear

>it is not a Lincoln tv set

The Ariel is not new, it is an old Ariel that has not been seen for many years. I am not able to access the Ariel as I live in a flat on the bottom floor and the Ariel is somewhere on the top floor.
What could I do?

Milamber was referring to Abraham Lincoln's quote

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.

You will get used to him - hes a bit of a joker :D

I was asking about the aerial as you say the channels appear & disappear when you move the aerial. That suggested an aerial on a windowsill or on top of the telly maybe.

If its an old aerial then there coulds be damaged cable. the distribution system could be faulty or the aerial may have blown down up on the roof. As you live in a flat contact your management company & tell them to sort it out. There is nothing you can do unless you have a balcony facing the transmitter.

I'm not being funny but the best aerial is an outdoor one if at all possible. Even one in the loft space will be better than one downstairs.
