The average price of Freeview equipment appears to be stabilising. New research released by the idtv.co.uk website found that the average price of basic Freeview receivers has only fallen slightly since the summer, from £68 to £66, and well above the £49 pricepoint being quoted in some circles. Meanwhile, the price of the more expensive ‘combi’ receivers has actually risen. The average price of a Freeview receiver has remained unchanged since the summer at £85. At the beginning of November there were 68 models on sale from 29 different manufacturers. This compares with 50 models from 26 brands at the end of June.
