SWMBO was complaining about the lack of quality on the BBC1 terrestrial picture (we live in a bad signal area) and knowing that the analogue would be switched off withing a couple of years I took the plunge after some research on here and a bit of Googling and opted for the Sagem PVR6280T Freeview Receiver with 80GB Hard Drive and Seven Day EPG.
Initial reaction was surprise at how small it was and even more surprise at how very easy it was to set up. OK I admit I had to tweak the loft aerial a tad to get a 50% signal with 98% quality but having done that everything else was easy peasy. Not only that it is very easy to use, so far I have not come across anything too complicated, If I was to be critical of anything I would say the instruction 'leaflet' leaves a lot to be desired and would give a technophobe the screaming habdabs. The lcd channel number display is primitive and displays a couple of letters which are not explained anywhere in the leaflet.
Apart from that a nice little tidy Freeview receiver with good quality playback from hard drive.

I've installed loads of sagem units, as they are the ones that Richer Sounds used to sell, I have always found them to be easy to setup and will operate on the minimum of signal. :)

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

I like my oggle reciever that I got from Asda at the end of 2005, it works great, and when the signal is a bit iffy, the image goes black but the audio continues, so even if you miss what's happening onscreen you still hear what's happening, great box it is!!! :D

There's also my former OnDigital Nokia 9850T (which shares the remote with my 9800S, so they can't be in the same room together), which is ok, the software's a bit limited, but it works well... :D

I have two Freeview PVRs - one from each end of the quality spectrum. A Topfield and a cheapo £80 Dual from Asda. Both are very good in their own way and nice and easy to operate.
