Does anyone know how you can activate a genuine FTV Card without having to call the number on the back of the card or using the installers setup.

Thanks in advance

What do you mean by 'force the card'?

And what did you say to Sky technical, about your reasons for not being able to active the card normally and what info did you give the about the card and box? Also what Sky technical number did you phone?

Sorry for all the questions, I’m just not quite sure what you did, and what the advantages/differences are over just phoning Sky to activate the card normally.

The number you call is 01383 814219. I spoke to someone called Hilary, very helpful, I told them the problem , she transfered me to some one in 2nd Tier Technical, they took all the details from the System Setup, not just the Version, serial and card number and hey presto!!!!

I presume you need to know the history of the card, such as name and address the card is registered to?...........

Yes i did have the full name and address of the card, i did purchase it via ebay but the guy provided me with the address, which is a bit re-assuring, i know it is not an ideal situation for a guarantee but having the real address really does help, especially when there are people out there buy de-valued sky cards. Oh one thing other the lady from sky told me that the FreeSat system will be launched in September/October, so guys if you have a devalued Sky Card expect them to be going off soon.

Ah so you just activated the card by phoning Sky normally? For a moment I thought you were saying you had found a mysterious third way of activating cards.

Good to know that they are definitely still activating FTV cards anyway.

yes but if you phone the number on the back of the FTV card it is not Sky it is C4, and they are very obstructive even though this has been purchased for £23.50, but if you get through to sky they can do it for you, if pester them enough, as the card says on the back "it is the property of SSSL".
