Will the 2nd Generation (with a picture of a yellow house on it) taken from one Digibox work in another Digibox giving BBC ITV, Ch 4 etc or does it have to be matched to the new decoder ?

Basically if I purchase a 2nd. generation card will it work properly when it's inserted in my Digibox ?
Thanks.

Even the new generation cards have always given ITV, Ch4+5 in a mis-matched box, so unless something changes, then yes it will work.

But don’t spend too much on the card, Sky may cancel it completely (unlikely, but possible), or the FTV card situation may be resolved (hopefully by free or reasonably priced cards becoming available). Either way paying an extortionate amount now for one would be annoying, unless you just can’t live without those channels for a few weeks.

According to the BBC the new cards will work until Sky change there encryption again. Probably in 3 to 5 years.
