G-Sat at 93.5*E

Extended east-limit switch adjustment and locked G-Sat with elevation 2,5*. Scanned >150 different services, mostly India. Now I have my arc 93,5*E-36*W on 1,2m dish. Of course I need to make some fine-tuning of polar-mechanism.

Amazing! I never thought 93.5E Ku band could be receivable in Europe with anything smaller than 2.40! Could you recommend a strong frequency to try with my 1.30?

Try that one which is on the screenshot, it seems to be one of the strongest.

I do not think so. Horizon is not clear, so, I think 93,5*E is my limit. However, if the horizon was clear than 96,5*E would be possible, I've heard from other local users they can receive it.

Indeed,it is impressive that you receive G-Sat from this position with 1.2m dish at an elevation so low.Congratulations.If I'm not asking too much,I would like to tell me how is the signal throughout the day/night on each transponder locked!Thanks.
In my area the signal on G-Sat is better in the afternoon and lock only on a few frequencies. During the morning he is weak that can't be locked with 1.5m.Elevation is 5.1° in my location.

Strong signal on NSS-6 on Middle East spot,but only transponders for Data.I don't catch anything from SES-8,spot India.Elevation in my area is 4.1°.

The only reason I asked about 95e is because I can see reports from DX Bozoth on lyngsat on India beam. Of course he does have a much wider array of much larger dishes.

Yes, sure, that is all about satellite reception, fully inline with forum's spirit. Not even necessary to watch TV. This is IMHO much more useful than making LNB-holders from kitchen sponge or even posting nice nature pictures.

If u r looking for some gud english FTA music, try abs2 @75e, there's a channel 9XO, shows classic english tracks on sundays full day, and normal english music on other days.

@shawl_who I was actually in New Delhi a few weeks ago and my hotel room had a fully functioning DishTV satellite system. The box was tiny - had a Conax card in the rear. I think it was pointing at 95e. What was annoying is that the receiver superimposed DishTV logo on all channels in the bottom right corner along with card number popping up on screen in random places every 20 minutes or so.

Yup, the logos are really annoying. Almost all DTHs running in India, have such big logos.

Dish TV receives it signals using monoblock, 95e and 100e. HD channel being on asiasat 5 @100e.
btw, what made u visit Delhi. Business trip or vacation getaway ?

It was a business trip but did visit India's biggest building on down day. When I was in Sri Lanka a few years ago, Dialog TV also had the same logo superimposed. Surprising this can't be turned off - screen-burn anyone (plasma/CRT)?

I am not particularly looking for music, just scanning around. BTW, 9XO is on SouthAsia beam and not receivable in Europe. So we will look for good English music somewhere else

Unfortunately ABS2 except for the ME beam is very hard to catch in Greece, 2.40m is the least required for both other beams. The previous satellite was such an easy catch with very strong signals but now they are all gone!
