if you are looking for german channels astra 19 is the best satellite..but you need to move dish or buy another lnb ans add it to your dish...very easy to do...

Diane,
The digibox is a very very inflexible item of equipment. While there are lots of German FTA channels out there on another satellite - forget doing anything with the digibox. If you can handle another dish and another receiver, then you can receive them - let us know and you will be advised further.

Many thanks, all.

What about other languages? I think there's a French channel or two available on the Digi?

There are also a few Czech ones available too, but I think these are now Cryptoworks encoded, although one or two intermittently transmit undecoded for some reason.

The S*y boxes don't like it when to add channels that are not part of the S*y family.

You can look forward to the box hanging and you having to restore your settings often.

If you have a twin output LNB you can get a cheap FTA digital receiver and have no problems - watch different channels etc. Quite simple to do.

Thanks! Can someone talk me through the process of adding TV5? I wouldn't mind having that one. (And yes, we're subscribed to S^y.)

Thanks again!

If you are interested in German channels you really need some extra kit. Old ex Sky analogue kit will give you 30 or so additional channels and is dead simple to set up.

You're right, of course. The irony is that until we got S^y Digital in, I had a 90cm dish hooked to an old Pace box and was piping that signal into my computer. But when the new dish came in, the old one had to come down, as we also have a satellite broadband dish on that wall, and we were running out of wall... :(

I'm going to be setting that dish up again as a cheap-n-cheerful motorized installation on a pole out in the back yard, some time in the spring. Meanwhile I'll just have to do without all the good stuff at 19.2. Oh well.

Thanks again!

Hi

When I lived in London I put up a dish with a multi-feed system directed at Astra 1 and Astra 2, connecting both LNBs to my Pace 2500. It was no problem getting all German digital channels by simply changing the plug connecting to the LNB. German channels had to be set manually though. They were and to my knowledge aren't integrated in the Sky platform.

Now I am back in Berlin and have difficulties with the British channels

Hope this is of some help to you.
