As my FTV card gets closer and closer to de-activation, the "For Your Information" dialog box is being displayed across my screen more and more often, and has become far more annoying than the knowledge that the card is going to be switched off completely some time soon.

Does anyone know of a silly way to get rid of the message altogether until that dark day comes along?

There is the Dot Stopper from PaceLink, it automatically presses the red dot every minute, but it may not be frequent enough for the banner.

To get around the problem of the banner on Sky News and Channel 4......

Press the red button on either channel. When the interactive screen appears, press the red button again and you will get full-screen without banners. Of course, there will be a small logo in the top right corner, but it's better than the banner. At least you can see the picture. Remember that, as you are in interactive mode, you'll need to press Sky button to exit....and....you'll need to repeat the process if you return to the channel.
This will not work with ITV or Five since they do not have interactive - or at least not yet! ITV plans to start in a couple of weeks. There's no guarantee that the channels will still be there, but if they are, the workaround should be similar to the above. Happy viewing.

I suppose that a long term solution would be the "BACKUP" device, but by the time I order one and have it shipped my Solus card would have expired altogether.

The active pause thingy seems to work ... it works on Sky News and I'm waiting to test it on Ch4 next time a program is on that has active content.

Guys, thanks very much for your help :-righton
