Hello

Belong to a few forums in Canada, have a question from a member in regards to what kind of system he would need in the UK I know all about our systems but am a definite newbie to your satellite community.

Does it matter where in the UK he lives in regards to spot beams, how current are bin updates, what's the good gear on the market, what kind of fta can he expect.....etc.....etc...etc...

Will definitely post a link to this forum as it looks like you folks have the knowledge base here.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

If he wants English language channels, then theres no real problem with spot beams. The Astra 2 cluster at 28E cover the UK nicely.

No patch files for Sky UK - if he wants the subscription channels he pays for them.

FTA channels - all the BBC & ITV services, numerous shopping, dating, religious rubbish, etc. Plus loads of radio channels covering everything from rock to dance to gospel:
