Golden Interstart 8001. I need help :(

Hi guys,

I have a Golden Interstar 8001 reciever and I am trying to upgrade the software using "STBUpgrade ver 1.9". The only thing is, I keep getting a "Time out" error everytime I put back in the power of the reciever.

I am really blond here, can anyone help, or atleast tell me why I am getting a "time out" error

your selecting the right com port in the software settings arent you?

try setting the baud rate to something like 9600.

do any of the older key files upload ok?

Ok, Let me explain.
This is the first time I did this, the last time it was done for me.
I only have one comport, thats com1. Its set at 115000. I dont have any old files, I have only one key file which is " Gazi_Hollanda-keys08.06.2005"

What I do;
I try to load the file with a program called "STBDownload-Multi1[1].9"
When I load it, then I turn off the reciever (Golden Interstar 8001 premium). Press "connect" and then plug back in the reciever. It doesn't do anything, then I get a time out error.

I dont have any other files to know if its a problem with the key file

thats about it in a nutshell.

Gazi hollanda releases all his key fiels here:

i beleive the newest one is dated the 24/6/2005.

if you go into the thread and download the latest keyfile and the STB multi loader 1.9 and try uploading the key file (after unzipping it of course) the way you weer doing it should work. if not you may have to load the boot loader first, depends when yuor keys were last updated.

check the connection between the receiver and the PC
Should have 2-3, 3-2 and 5-5

I found the problem today. I had to install a boot program. Now its working fine. I still dont have HBO, but its working fine none the less

Can anybody help

You mentioned a satexperts forum in a earlier posting. I dont seem to be able to download the files without registering first. Unfortunatly I dont understand the language so cant regisster. Do you know of any other sites ?
