Hi,

Just stating to look at Sats. What would be the best motorised system for under £1000?

1:Want motorised
2:Want to be able to search for ALL channels on each Sat
3:pref to be able to un-scramble these channels also if I need to
4:Hard Disk Recorder also?

I'm in Herttfordshire and would like to FIND new channels, just nosey I guess ;OP

Thanks for your help!

You can foreget any ideas of descrambling ALL channels - many of them are using secure encryptions now.

There's probably no "best" setup. Do you want a wall mounted dish (max 1m planning permission) or a bigger ground mounted one?

Or my poor relation:

DM500s, 90cm dish, hh-motor, networked to my PC hard-drive

;)

(£100 + £80 (clear dish) + £45).

Do I need planning permission for a 1 Meter Dish? Even a clear one?

Where is the best place to buy all the gear? At the best price of course :)

Yes you do technically require planning consent for a 1m dish (although many don't bother), you probably won't find a 1m clear dish though, I believe that 85cm is the max size available.

As for finding the gear, there are lots of Etailers, some advertise on frums, but a google search will bring them out of the woodwork.
