What receiver are you using?

If it is a Sky digibox, what does it say for the transport stream?

Have moved this to an appropriate section.

I am sure that my SKY digibox hates Hotbird satellites. It would lock-up if while trying to get back to SKY if I had been watching some Italian food channel for hours.

Unplug the box and start again. Maybe someone can tell you the transport stream to look for (i'm moving so mine's in a packing box :-)

Slightly OT, but useful for the future.

If you are going to do this on a regular basis - here's Mark's cheap recommendation: align dish to normal position :D then draw a thin vertical line with a permanent pen that crosses both the bracket and the mounting pole affair; that way, after you have done messing you can just swivvle back and line-up the markings. I had about 6 at one point

Anyway this is fine if you have a balcony; else Rod Hull comes to mind - if thats you, you might want to consider a motor.

Have Fun,

Mark.

Not actually sure from your post what you did, or what you are trying to achieve. Did you have the dish setup on Astra 28.2 for the UK Freesat channels and then move away from it?

at the moment i am only getting channels from hotbird , astra 19.2 nothing from 28. on astra 19.2 i am not able to get huge loads of channels cannot even get bbc channels signal strenth is above 90,but no audio or video error..
on hotbird have no such problems.
apart from these two satellites i am getting a signal from 23.5 E only...

p.s. using 88 cm triax ,technomate 1600 with motek motor.

Its because some channels have changed their din/vin settings since the last Pre-installed channel list was updated, so althought you have a good signal strength & quality you cannot see any audio/video because the vin/din settings are wrong..

You need to delete all channels on the satellite you are watching and always update your listings by using blind search... because the pre-installed channel listing becomes out of date very quickly I only ever update with blind scan now.

Hope this helps
All the best John
