Dick Dale, pioneer of Surf Rock, which became all the rage in the early 60's, influencing the Beach Boys amongst others, has died aged 81.

'Misirlou' was a hit early on, becoming popular again when it featured in the film Pulp Fiction in 1994.

RIP Dick....I was watching a Youtube video of him in concert last night. The video was from February this year and he had to be be helped on stage and played sitting down. He'd lost none of his ability though...
