My Satellite Setup
Starsat SR-X200CI and 80cm dish (0.3db LNB) on Hispasat 30w
My Location
Suffolk Coast
I am new to the satellite hacking hobby, and am soon getting a moterised satellite dish, so I can pick up Hotbird and Astra 1 satellites (mainly)

I understand that some of these channels are encrypted to various encryption systems, for example Irdeto, Viaccess, Videoguard, Cryptoworks, Mediaguard, Powervu, Nagravision, Conax, RAS, BISS, Omnikrypt, Keyfly, Betacrypt etc.

Which of these are hackable, where do I get the keys for them, and what equipment will I need to do so?

I already have a 2CI receiver, but no CAM, any recommended??

Also, I have heard that the Sky Italia Videoguard (Hotbird) has been hacked?

The ones I am most interested in are the Sky Italia Videoguard ones, Irdeto, Viacesss, Cryptoworks, and Powervu, but information on any of the above encryption systems would be great!

Any help is appreciated! :)

C.Barber :)

I am sure the experts woulld be in a better position to advise you on this subject. From an amateurs point of view The hotbird and astra 19.2 degrees can be received from (if that is the only one you are interested in) from a fixed dish and twin LNB's. I have the same arrangement with a 80cm dish for the east midlands uk. In my opinion the dragoncam is the best available and I understand an updated wersion is now available with the appropriate loader card. With some help from our m8s on this forum or similar you can learn to prgram update the software to unscramble channels that are already hacked.
Anyway I would advise you to wait until the experts advise you before you part with your bucks.

Hi c.barber

Newboy45 is right. If you already have a receiver then a dragon cam would be best. Sky Italia has been gradually changing encryption from S*ca2 to Videoguard. S*ca2 was hacked but Videoguard has never been and I doubt it will. In fact most encryptions gave moved to another level (second generation) and, as yet, unhacked. So, with a motorised dish picking up 19E and 13E and 30W if poss, I would get a dragon cam and an Infinity USB programmer (or an Adteknik) and you should get some of the list below. This is list is the work of Donald on Toecutters.

Cheers to everyone how helped me out, and this great site!

i have a GBsat 2CI 0 receiver which is the same as a Starsat SR X200CI

i have one downloaded file for it, which i haven't loaded on yet, what does it do?

Its called "Jan_22_SR-X200CI.zip"

Also, are there any more patches? and if yes, what do they do?

--------------

One other question, if I buy a Dragon Cam & Loader Card, what else will i need? i already have a serial lead for the box itself, so can i program it from that, by plugging the lead into my box, and the cam into the slot???? :confused

Thanks

No, that 's why I said you needed a programmer, such as the infinity USB phoenix.

Hi m8,

i was reading the forum and i liked the way you were explaining things. it seemed so easy to understand you. so i thought may be i could tell u my problem.
i have a humax receiver 5300 viaccess embeded and matrix reloded cam.

i want to watch tps, multivision so if i update my cam using let' say cas 2 programmer wil that work or do i need something else.

Also i have the original card for canal+france which i use with reloaded it works perfectly but when the mature content movies starts the channel is blocked, i read in the website of canal+. and it saus that c+ is using a system called double cryptage ie the channel is protected twice. i tried all the options in the receiver it just didn't work it's so frustarting because i paid for the card .Now in the website they gave me instrucions but they r applied only to their original receiver mediasat which i don't like because u r limited only to seca system with it.

i need help it soooooo frustrating

cheers
