Half the channels

I've just been given a pace 9800 receiver which i have just installed but all the channels on horizontal polarity come and go intermittently, all at the same time. When the channels are there, the picture is perfect. All the vertical polarity channels work perfectly well all the time. Any idea what my problem could be.

I suspect a faulty LNB (or more specifically, a faulty polarisor in the LN.
Replace the LNB and see if it solves your problem.
