Hi Everybody,
Just wanted to post a question and hope someone might have experienced this or know what is going on.
I am living in Cyprus im English, I have the following Equipment:

1 m Dish
0.3 db LNB
Diseqc Motor
Dreambox DM600

im trying to pickup Showtime on Nilesat 7w. When i do a transponder scan i do not pick up these transponders, yet im getting 89% signal on the satellite and locked, i seem to get most of the other transponders infact i get over 1100 channels but can never bring in the showtime channels.

The motor works fine, i get hotbird 13E, Eutlesat 7E all fine. with great signal.

This is very strange i know most of the Showtime channels are on vertical transponders.

Everyone Else seems to be picking up showtime in cyprus with a 85cm dish but i cant.

Please help.

Thanks:-worship

I am assuming that the 1100 channels are from several satellites and not only from 7W, as there aren't that many channels there.
Please give a list of few channel names that you can get from Nilesat 7W, I just want to make sure that you are indeed getting channels from this sat.

Edit: Please update your location as it is confusing.
If you are in Cypress, then try the Amos 4W suggestion.
Scan 4W and see if you can pickup all the channels from Amos.

Also when you scan turn on the Network search if your receiver has one as your transponder data on your box may be outdated.

You could also try and scan just one transponder that you know for showtime. 11996H 27500 3/4 is where Showsports 1,2 and 3 are

When you say you get most of the other transponder channels,do you mean Nilesat channels? Are you receiving the free MBC channels ?

hi yes sorry for the long reply back i am back in cyprus now and am trying to get this sorted out.

i have posted a screenshot of what im getting on 4w im getting only 15 services once the transponder has scanned.

i think the whole dish needs to be realigned for the begining.

im on cyprus have a morised dish and 1.0m back home on england i know how to setup up using 0w thor but in cyprus i dont know can anyone help.

thanks

The screenshot doesn't seem to be for Amos 4W. It looks like Polsat or Cyfra+ on Hot Bird 13E. So your dish is most probably on HB.

Yep, I agree with HB13DISH, that must be hotbird 13E, 4fun.tv is only on there.

bh2362, it doesn't really matter too much what you location is, the principle for setting up a motorised dish is the same. If you did it in the UK, you should know how to do it in Cyprus.

Instead of Thor 0.8W, use Eurobird3 at 33E, 11087H should do it. This is the satellite closest to your due south, with a transponder that you should easily be able to pick up.

The thing to remember is ,when setting up a motorised dish in different countries the centre point is different.
In UK 0w is centre if you are on the Meridian line and wpould be the highest point on the arc, but in Cyprus it is roughly Hellas sat on 39e(couldn't get 33e on my friends set up) and then the dish would go as far as 15-20w
But if you are already picking up 7e and 13e then your motor is on target.
when your dish is on 13e and you select Nilesat do you see the dish move to the west? It should be near enough the lowest point on its arc pointing towards Paphos.
Also have you locked into the inbetween satellites,10e,5/4.8e and a bit of 1w maybe ?
