Hi Lads,

Perhaps nothing new to some of you but for the uninitiated- you can view HDTV on your hi-spec PC using DB7000s.

I have got it working on channel Euro1080 (19.2E) over 100 Mbit network, approx 2.5 MByte stream. Playback either vlc 0.8.1 or HDTV pump filter 1.05 in WMP10. Do not even try on anything below P4 2.0GHz/512MB RAM.
Well, on a test laptop P4 1.7GHz, the playback was still bearable probably thanks to nvidia 440FX accelerator (over 802.11g+!), although the PC was quite struggling even at 2.4 GHz and ATI Radeon 9800 Pro.

Image Rudream 050515, completed Front processor upgrade.

The quality and resolution is absolutely stunning on a 19" Sony LCD screen with contrast ratio of 1:800. You can see every little detail- portaits are especially merciless, every little wrinkle, any signs of aging- I suppose it will shake up Hollywood as did the arrival of sound to film. Pictures of crowds in concert are spooky you can see many little men waving at you.

Good luck with testing.

Well that's killed any chance I had of being a TV presenter.

Do you need a HDTV to view them or any other special connections from PC to TV?

You can view HDTV ONLY on PC unless you splashed your hard earnings on a HDTV set.
Hmmmm, 42" Plasma was on sale in Cash and Carry for €2k ex. VAT I think it was HDTV compatible... the temptation was big....but the house is too small ;-)

Hadn't thought of trying before, but works well as described above, just got to wait for something decent to watch. :)
