Advice Needed Heating Problem with Light Bulb Holder

I have a strange problem with the light bulb holder I have in the kitchen.
I normally need a 75W lamp E27 base there. The lamp holder is connected to a short length of standard electrical power cable that comes down from the ceiling. There is no lamp shade so free air should be able to cool it all around.
The lamp holder is made of plastic and it is the best I could find in my local shop.
I have the same type of lamp holder in all other rooms where I use 100W lamps there, LED and filament type.
Anyway, I noticed that after switching on the lamp for a period of one hour, there is a funny smell coming from the lamp holder. Switching it off makes the smell go away. It is quite hot when I touch it afterwards.
I have recently replaced the lamp holder with a brand new one, but the problem continues.
I have switched in the meantime to 60W equivalent LED lamp and the problem is still there but it takes a bit longer. It is a bit too dim for me and I really need 75W there.
What puzzles me is why does this happen only in this room and not elsewhere, even with higher wattage lamps?
I am going to order ceramic lamp holders and hopefully this would help. The problem is that I can't find ceramic type in local stores and I might need to order special from the UK or Germany,
By the way, LED lamps even with their low power rating for example the 75W equivalent which is rated 11W has all the electronics near the base and I am sure they get very hot there.
Should I change the short power cable? It is a bit difficult for me to do this alone and would rather leave it alone and just hope the ceramic type would help.

If you have changed the lamp & the holder then the power cable is the next suspect.......

Sounds like the lampholder is of chinese origin, made of low quality plastics that can't tolerate much heat before melting and/or burning, definitely get rid of it, and you might aswell replace the cable, just incase it's been damaged...

As for LED bulbs getting hot, they do, but nowhere near as hot as an incandescent bulb can (after all, you can use an incandescent lightbulb to make a small oven!!), after all, they're lower current devices... :)

Thanks. I will definitely change to ceramic, if I can find any.
Still puzzled why other similar lamp holders from same batch don't smell
The power cable is not damaged and I really can't see how it can be the culprit. I will change it as well to larger gauge size, just need someone to hold the ladder for me for five minutes.

Agreed,
The centre sprung contact pin has probably lost it's tension due to heat caused by a high resistance contact, or, lamp not screwed in sufficiently

What do you mean "The top part" ??? Do you mean the harp that holds the lamp shade?

If so then it connects to the post that the lamp holder mounts to.

No. I meant the top cover that let the wires coming down from the ceiling to connect to the terminals inside the lamp holder.
I previously gave a link but it didn't show the top cover and presumably the terminals would be exposed. Can't have that obviously for a hanging lamp holder.
Now I am glad I found this part and will be ordering at least 5 pieces from the UK

Yesterday I went shopping for a porcelain light bulb so I took two buses in this heat to get to a large shop in Tel Aviv. The shop owner shouted they are closed but was gracious enough to serve me. They had a porcelain one without the top cover for 2 pounds each so I bought two. I used the old power cable and connected the new lamp holder, but used the top cover from the plastic lamp holder to just rest on top of the new one. Not ideal but better than nothing.
If this one smells too, I think I am going to have a nervous breakdown!!

The only way to make that one smell is to rub it down with some Limburger cheese or some skunk fat.

Note to all:

Limburger cheese is the best revenge tool around, a small ball of it on top of someones exhaust manifold will cause then to sell the car/truck for scrap.

Skunk fat, used by us rednecks to repel mosquito's, horse fly's and tourists.

I got the same message. How did they know I am a shoplifter?
I think it has something to do with Geo Blocking. Only users from USA and possibly Canada are allowed.
Same thing happens to me when I try to browse Western Digital website wdc dot com. Try it and see if you can get in.
If anyone is able to get in, it means they are hiding their IP with VPN.
