Hi,

I am totally new to all of this, but really would appreciate any help or advice in receiving Bulgarian TV in the UK.

I currently have just a Sky dish and box, but am willing to purchase new equipment if necessary (where's best to buy?).

I know there is an operator called Bulsatcom who uses the Hellas 2 satellite for transmission, but can I receive these channels even if they are encrypted and if so how do I unscramble the signals?

Any help would be truly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance,

Burgasleer :confused

There is quite a bit of free to air Bulgarian TV available, see http://www.lyngsat.com/freetv/Bulgaria.html , from the look of it, a motorised 90cm would get you most of them.

With regard to the ones on Hellas2, you will need a receiver with an Irdeto CAM and a card from the providers, if you know someone or have family in Bulgaria, they could get you one.

This link shows that there is indeed some Bulgarian language programmes on Hellsat@38East. The footprint looks OK to receive in the UK, if that's where you are. http://www.lyngsat.com/hellas2.html

Frequency:12524 H ; S.R. 29000; FEC 7/8

Bulsatcom link: http://www.bulsat.com/

You need a receiver that will do Irdeto 2. There is a receiver on the Bulstacom, but I don't understand Bulgarian.

Merged your duplicate thread Burgasleer, please don't cross post.

Sorry philip24, we both replied to the same question. :)

Hi

Thanks for the help to date.

If a channel is encoded with 'cryptoworks' how do I proceed?

Sorry to sound so dumb, but this really is brand new to me.

Thanks in advance.

If it is Cryptoworks, you will need a Cryptoworks CAM and subscription card from Bulgaria, something like a Matrix Revolutions cam may operate with the subscription card also.
