I like the fact that with a std. image in flash and everything else on USB I can chop and change quickly (especially it it dies on it's butt) and can remove all the naughty stuff in 47 nanoseconds if I need to - like if the box were to go t!ts up and I had to return it. I'm sure there should be at least one full stop in there somewhere, but hey...
Also, the std image should be more stable, mainly because it's smaller.
I would never go back to putting a third party image in flash unless something changed in the future which gave it a distinct advantage.
