help please panasonic tv

Hi M8s,
could someone please help me, i have a panasonic tx-w36d3dp/u tv, the problem is when i switch it on from cold works for a half to one hour sometimes then it goes off, still have sound leave it off for a couple of hours it will then work again for half to one hour. when you go to turn it off on front of set after its lost picture the screen lights up momentarily. where shall i start looking please. wurzel.

This TV-fixing thing is easy.

The answer is always 'change-out all the power supply capacitors'.

Works every time, and you know, it could even work for you!

On a serious note (and I'm no expert) it definitely sounds like power supply, and could well be the capacitors!

It's the TV repairers answer to the IT helpdesk's 'please reboot your computer'.

try thumping the side of the tv.... if it comes on again it's a dry joint somewhere.

Definitely an Intermitting fault. Not for the DIY.
