Look for one of the high bitrate transponders. Most of them are fairly strong. Try one with the Bulgarians on it.

Thanks I will do that in the morning, Can you tell me if the power output from Hotbird and Astra1 is stronger than Eutelsat?, I am thinking that this maybe the reason for not seeing the signal

No - Hotbird and Astra position use higher powered satellite as far as I know.

16E transmission powers are all over the place thanks to split frequencies using the same transponder. Many of the low bit rate channels are right down on power as anything up to a dozen channels or feeds are using the same frequency..

Boy you are having problems - at least you can see the satellite now!

The LNB used voltage to switch from Horizontal to Vertical but I think the Horizontal takes the higher voltage? and that's working.

Otherwise it may have been the length of cable and lack of power to the LNB.

Can you check the voltage on Horizontal and Vertical at the LNB just to make sure?

Also check the symbol rate - I take it the LNB works OK on Astra?

The only way to check if it is transponder settings, is to see if the ones on your receiver match the ones on Lyngsat, can you not see the one i mention above?

universal 0.3db Single Platinum LNB. I was asked to try one out today for a friend who had just bought that one in a package from Germany, he paid 9 euros for it.
What a laugh, it turned out to be worse than the old Cambridges that I have. It's even worse than the cheapie that I picked up from Lidl on thursday to play with.
Low strength and quality reading across the whole spectrum, dustbin job in my opinion.

ok thanks, the lnb/cable-connectors work perfctly well on sky. I have a perfect picture on Eutelsatw2-horizontal 18.6v but not vertical 13.5v, though occasionally I get broken pictures, any ideas?

That's where I was going next topper. He does mention he can get 13 & 19 but they are quite a bit stronger. Could well be mate.

Eureka
Guess what, The dish was inperfect east to west.
The horizontal of the dish was deformed so I pushed it in from the sides and went from 16% quality to 80%.It took me three days to find that
Thanks for all your help
