Is the 7100 really two years old ?

Regardless if you have been having trouble in that time, unless it is a firmware bug, there is almost something up with the installation to cause the issues you have.

The guy installed it over 2 years ago - and at the time said he had no idea how the receiver worked, also that I wouldn't be able to watch much as pratically everything is scrambled, and that I wouldn't be able to watch anything further than Europe!

However I've found loads of satellites to 'FTA' and could when it was working watch tv from Peru, Venezuela, South Africa, most of Africa - Angola, Guinea Bissau etc etc!!

The guy was an idiot - just on 13E you can watch exotic fta Asian channels from Myanmar (Burma), Thailand, Korea Japan (well when the news is on!) and numerous ex Soviet block channels from all sorts of exotic locations

All enthusiasts should have a play with the KingofSat search pages - you can filter the searches in all sorts of useful ways.

Of course.

I don't know of any systems where the customer has repeated issues, normally one callout is all it takes to fix most troubles.

You can split the potential cause between
A faulty LNB (overcurrent)
Faulty cable (intermittent short circuit)
Faulty f-plug fitting (open/short circuit)
Faulty motor (any number of problems)
Receiver position (overheating)

Many thanks for your reply!!!!!

Yes I thought he was - he even charged me more because I wanted the Installation almost a grand!!!

Anyhow the dish and receiver still aren't working, I don't know what else I can do??????????

Shame you live so far away, because I could really do with someone coming round to sort it out and help me get the best from this terrific set up!!!! As I said before I'm sure I'm not using it to it's full potential!!

hehe - dont think you would like my solution - I go for the fixed dish and miles of cabling to diseqc switches option! (Ive currently got 6 operational dishes set up in the garden!

Hey there!
Well still no joy - I didn't think that I would miss the TV this much, but its like no Internet connection - I feel cut off from the outside world!!

Anything else I can do???

Might give you some pointers as to whats awry.

In the meantime dont panic - not all our members log in every day - for some folks its maybe once or twice a week.

HURRAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My problem is all sorted now thanks to: Duncan from;

He has re-installed my Dish, re-aligned it, put up proper wall brackets to stop it from swaying in the wind, put the correct Longitude & Latitude, and shown me how to use the Rolls Royce of Receivers!!

Am I a very happy bunny or what???

At last I can now enjoy my satellite system to it's full potential!!

Oh and as a foot note he didn't flecce me either!!
