We need to get this longitude sorted out. According to the info I can find St Davids in Pembrokeshire is at around 5 degs West. If you are near there, then you need your south on Atlantic Bird 3. 5W
i posted my latitude/longitude earlier, here it is

my latitude (Lat: 51:40:39N (51.6775) Lon: 4:54:47W (-4.9129))
its accurate, i took it from mulitmap when i searched for my postcode

so, 5degrees west it is then!

I will go re zero the dish and let you know how things are.

Right, go for 5W then, set the motor armature at "0" degrees and don't touch it again until you have found 5W by swinging the motor clamp on the mast and adjusting the elevation on the dish (I assume that you've set your lattitude on the motor body). Once you've found it, you should be near enough there.

Sorry if I gave dodgy advice... :(

Presumably the words "1W" could be replaced with "5W" in my posts? ie set it to zero and move it 5W? If the signal is poor do you have clear line of sight? Checked the cables and lnb?

guys i did as i have been told and im having problems with hotbird.

my sig strength is aboiut 50% but im missing some of the transponders i get probably 60 - 70% of them, the rest i only get about 25% strength and 15-20% quality, and my luck being what it is, the ones that are missing are the ones i want to watch!

any thoughts?

FYI a full scan lists 463 channels.

Try adjusting your elevation and see if that helps. You should be getting more than that where you are.

If you gain signal at 13e but loose it at the edges then you have not centred properly in the first instance. If it all comes up then you are on the right track.

If you need some more transponder info then have a look at Lyngsat and see if you are getting all of that.
