Help with Sky in Mallorca

Hello all,
Im a newbie here so not sure if ave posted this in the right thread, but here goes....
We have a villa in Mallorca and have had a dish installed and have used our old sky box for viewing. The usual channels are fine (bbc1 itv etc) the problem we have is that we took our sky card over with us last time so we could get the other channels we subscribe to. When we put the card in there is no signal and we have left it in the box over night and still nothing, and as soon as we take the card out it works ok again. Any advise as what the problem could be and any way we can fix it.

So if I get this right, you will be watching BBC1 and put the card in the slot but it then shows no signal?

Tanks for reply. Yes thats right get all the free sky but no signal when we put sky card in.

I'm assuming that you are putting the card in the subscription card slot and not the interactive slot, have you tried putting the card in, unplugging the receiver at the mains and then plugging back in?

Satelliteman answers that he has seen this fault before and the card is at fault.

Why it should be ok for you in the UK I don´t know. Tell them that the dog has eaten your old one and they will send you a new one. Worth a try.
