After livin in germany for 26 years i miss my german tele.....so i bought a FTA complete system. All is now bolted and nailed in place (Astra 19,2).The time came to get out the signal meter and twiddle the dish.I get a signal on the meter but not on the sat box meter on the TV.After looking at the position of my dish (by eye), it seems to be pointing at 28 whatever the normal Sky position.Any ideas????

In the spare room.
If it is on 28 tankie88, turn the dish 9 degrees clockwise (looking from above.)

If your standing behind the dish pull the right hand side towards you.

No its a stupid question but have you put a Transponder like 12109H, 27500, 5/6 into your reciver so that you can decode a signal.

A lot are, sometimes they need updating, but some transponder signals are stronger than others.

The transponders are programed into most recivers, but not the channles, you have to scan for them.

back to the continuing saga......tryed coupling the FTA to my SKY dish and got a signal.I got most of the english FTA channels as the SKY dish points 28 degs(obviously).I then put the FTA box back onto the other dish(which is in the garden).....no signal what so ever in any direction. The signal meter says i got a signal but nothing on the meter on the setup screen on the TV.any ideas anyone?? or does someone live in or near Penryn,Cornwall for a setup job.

We do have a couple of members down that way, but I'm sure that we can get you up and running. You need to select a transponder on Astra 19.2 which has a digital output, try the one suggested above.

Obvoius one I know but saw almost the same thing on the forum somwhere yesterday.

there is obviously enough of the centre conductor bared for the meter
but is there enough poking through for your FTA which may have a deeper
'F' skt

Just a thought.... :)

the continuing saga...i,ve now come to the concluesion the big granite built hall nextdoor is in the way of a sat dish in the garden. As my sky dish is mounted just above the gutter of the hall nextdoor...signal is no prob. The next ??? is could i fit a smaller dish above the sky dish to get 19.2E(like a 2nd sky dish) or fit a 2nd lnb on the sky dish to to get 19.2E.The dish i have now in the garden for 19.2E is 80cm...how small can i go?
