Welcome to satellites,

This depends on how much of the arc you want to see. Ideally 30West to 42East.
For reference the $ky dish is pointing 28East.

Hope this helps :D

If the wall is facing west, the Sky dish won't be getting any signal from Sky. :)

Ideally a motorised dish should go on a south facing wall.

I suggest you check again which way your wall faces.

Stick your postcode in here

The elevation of the dish changes as it goes round the arc, at about 30 odd degrees in the middle (In the UK), to ground level at the right and left hand extremes.

I am in full agreement with Robbo, if you dish is on a west facing wall there is no chance you can be getting anything past about 7E. If you are going to set up a motorised dish then it needs to be on a south facing wall to be able to get all the satellites in the arc. 5W would be the best satellite to do the set up on, for your location. Please also ensure that the pole you are going to bolt the motor to is absolutely plumb, if it is not you will loss signals at the extreme of the arc.

Very best regards Wez

Unless it was on a TK and mast looking over the roof:-rofl2

Would be very high and prone to wind movement though :D

Is there no way you can put the dish on a south facing wall, it would do away with any problems you are having, if not then you might try placing the dish on a ground mount, with the added advantage that it is very accessible and easy to work on.

Very best regards Wez
