Hi guys..
posted a while back about SKY's crap installation service..well I'm just reaffirming that...had SKY installation due before xmas but engineer never showed up..got new date for yesterday 14th and guess what? engineer never showed up..I'm really pissed now due to the fact I cancelled my NTL account and I want to tell SkY to shove it up their swiss..but the kids and the other half still want SKY...I've done all the calling to SKY but it's like talking to the wall, wouldnt mind but I'd install it myself if I had the equipment..I've now been given a new date which will be over 1 month since the original installation date..plus they have started taking money from my account....what would you do??????

In my book you have two choices. If you can be a real snot on the phone and stand your ground insist to speak to the person's manager and carry on that process until you get someone to make a definite promise.
Alternatively contact your local trading standards office as they have illegally removed funds from your bank account without providing any service what so ever. :(

One thing is for sure, I would cancel the Direct Debit and claim the money back until they have it installed and working. That's nuts...

If it's bugging you that much, get a decent local installer to set you up, though you will obviously pay a lot more :rolleyes:

I'm afraid that wherever there is a monopoly, there is no need to bother with a customer services department.

I take it that you can't get cable?

Yes BG I have cable (dont know how though as I cancelled my sub with NTL before xmas..I'm just waiting for this to be chopped then the missus will really flip)
Topper...I have thought about getting heavy on the phone but It's not worth the hassel... get no joy just apologies..I'm sitting in again today as the last guy I spoke to said SKY would phone today to try and arrange a different date possibly this week..
Question 1: If the installer failed to show up twice with no phone call saying why,surley he should be penalised by SKY ?
Question 2: The last guy who I spoke to told me my previous sub card was reactivated, I have my old box too but I dont want to activate the card in this box as it was dodgy before..if I did reactivate with this card and old box myself would SKY give me a new box when the installer does come out or will the card be permanently married to this box?

Hi guys..
After well over a month since I subscribed,a Sky engineer finally came out today and installed (sort of) my box...I say sort of because I had my dish set up on the back garden wall myself temporarily..just so I could mess around with my old sky box..however, my missus didn't want the box stuck on the front of the house so I asked him to stick it up around the back of the house, he said he needed to go off and get a T&K bracket and pole which would cost me Euro 108...what a joke,I only bought one in Maplins two weeks ago for Euro 15 and a pole for another E5 for my motorised setup ..these Sky installers are a law onto themselves ( No offence to any genuine installers out there) he also wanted to charge me 65 quid to install on the chimney...In the end he left me temporarily set up.....Just had to vent my frustration!!!
