hi i have a technomate 5500ci plus 1m dish on a ground stand i cant get any satellite i have tryed out the back and out the back i have a meter but i cant find anything some one please help

Technomate 5402 HD M2 Ci, DM7000s, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Promax HD Ranger+ spectrum analyser.

I'm assuming that you are in the UK ford570, you need to decide which satellite you want to receive and then select it on the receiver.

Once you,ve done that, you need to point the dish, possibly with the aid of a compass, at the satellite you have set the receiver to.

Depending which satellite you are trying for, (may be easier to start off with Astra 28.2 East, as you can compare the direction with other neighbours' dishes) you then need to set the dish elevation.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Have a look at where the neighbours dishes are ponting. This will give you a rough guide on where your one has to be.

There may also be a signal strength meter in the receiver OSG which may or may not be better than the external meter (which dont normally like strong signals from the bigger type dish)
