If my Longitude is 9 deg West, do I set the highest point in my arc at a satellite around 10 deg West or do I set it at Thor?

Cheers

Just tuned inot 8W on 11598 H 27500 3/4 on an 80cm in southern UK, so depending on your dish size it should be fine.

Thanks. The motor manual said to point it due south but I was drifting away towards the west satelittes. FYI I have an 80cm dish on the north west Irish coast and get 85-90% signal on Astra 28.5, 19.2, 16, 10. 75%+ on Thor, 5W and 30W.

Sorted.
After many months of tweeking (in the wrong direction as it happens) I came home last night and started everything from scratch. Within an hour I was finished. For anyone using a dreambox to setup a motorised system I would recommend the following order.

Start with Hotbird. When Hotbird is stored (make sure it is the only one stored), do a recalculation.
Drive the motor to the position stored in the motor for the satellite closest to your longitude.
Loosen the brackets holding the motor to the post and point the motor at this location. Drive the motor back and tune in to get the strongest signal. Drive back to Hotbird and depending on whether you have to bend the dish up or down to increase the signal, move the motor and dish assembly as appropriate.
