Hl to the list,
I am new on the forum and hopen an help.
i am currently in possession of a 60cm dish with two separate LNBs which theyare
used, one for the satellite channels with the decoder (Hotbird 13E) and one for receiving the Weather,
Eumetsat (Eurobird 9E).
So everything is OK, but unfortunately I have to go by December 31 from the current reception Eurobird 9E
to Eutelsat 10A which is located at 10E.
I've replaced the current parabolic dish of a 60cm with one of 80cm and replaced the two LNB with the other two RED EXTEND (I think it's the brand) but unfortunately I can catch both signals.
Someone please can tell me how to do to catch both satellites?
Thanks in advance.
Enzo

Hello Enzo, welcome to the forum.

80cm might be marginal for 10E - and you may well find the lnbs need to be too close together.

Try putting the main focus of the 80cm on 10E, and using the 60cm dish for 13E.

Ah. Thats a pity. Try the main focus on 10E & the offset on 13E. I dont think it will work very well for the offset though - about 4 degree offset is normally as close you can go with average lnb's on an 80

Never give up :)

Set up on 10E first. Ive been looking at the Eumetcast site and an 80cm is undersized for their recommendations, but sometime you have to compromise. (Many of my dishes are undersized for what its recommended to use & I get very good results from the broadcast satellites apart from in bad weather).

Once you have set up on 10E try & set up the offset on 13E & see how you get on.

What is it exactly you are trying to watch at 10E?

OK, sorry, I missed that.
But do I understand correctly that the stream is only at 9E (Kingofsat shows it is DVB-S, not S2)?
Or is there another one at 10E?

Thanks. I understand it is only for DVB cards, not common receivers?

DVB-S and DVB-S2 are Digital Video Broadcast standards, available for most receivers, providing they are HD, High Definition.
I hadn't heard of Eumetsat, prior to this thread.
What are the frequencies, for these channels, on 9E and 10E?

Found a web site, EUMETCast Europe, that lists a change to 10E, 11263 H 33000 DVB-S2 8PSK 3/5.

Hello,
first Merry Christmas to the list.
I have found a dish but do not understand if it will be OK for my purpose as iam not sure about the size.
It is Oval and it is about 80cm in Horizontal and about 90cm in vertical.
It is and 80cm or an 90cm one?
Thanks
Enzo

Good question!

An oft debated issue, but I'll go for 80cm.

I have no idea what the signal resilience of the Eumetcast DVB-S2 signals are like - its using a transmission standard I cant do anything with here, but Ive found the power levels on the tv channels on 10E to be pretty poor on many frequencies.

Certainly last time I tried 10E on an 80 cm dish I struggled with many of the tv channels. However its a case of try it & see how you get on.
